ON THIS DAY
Wednesday 14 April 1965
Queen’s Park 2 Brechin City 2
On this day 61 years ago, Queen’s Park drew 2-2 with Brechin City in a Division Two match at Hampden Park before a crowd of 600.
A deflected Alec Stewart shot gave the visitors the lead at the interval. Malcolm Mackay equalised in 50 minutes with a clever finish and in 63 minutes Ian Robertson fired Queen’s ahead. However, two minutes later, Billy Cooper drew Brechin level to all but extinguish the Spiders’ slim promotion hopes.

OPPOSITION WATCH
On Raith's last league visit to The city Stadium we registered our first home Championship win of the season - a result which saw the Fife side change manager. Dougie Imrie replaced Barry Robson, then led Rovers to a 4-1 win over QP in January - but the Spiders have beaten Josh Rae (above) five times this term.
