On this day 78 years ago, Queen’s Park recovered from being a goal down at half-time to beat Celtic 3-2 in a Division A match at Hampden Park. The goal scorers for the Spiders were John Farquhar (2) and Graeme Cunningham.

Despite a battling display, this afternoon’s opponents Partick Thistle went down 2-1 to Rangers at Ibrox Park.
