On this day 73 years ago, a crowd of 5,000 saw Queen’s Park ease to a comfortable 4-0 victory over Albion Rovers in the League Cup, with goals from Bobby Dalziel, Charlie Church (2) and Jimmy Ward.

Meanwhile there was a bumper attendance of 25,000 at Stark's Park in Kirkcaldy where George Young, John Prentice, Billy Simpson and former Spider Derek Grierson were on target in a 4-0 win for Rangers.
